Ingredients
For mashed potatoes:
- 3 pcs large potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 tsp salt, plus more to taste
- 8 tbsp butter, divided
Ground beef mixture:
- 1/2 kg ground beef
- 1 pc medium white onion, chopped
- 1 pc Knorr Beef Cube
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- to taste ground black pepper
Shepherds Pie Topping:
- 1/2 cup grated melting cheese
While most pies are served during dessert, Shepherd’s Pie is a savory dish best enjoyed as an entree. The key is to ensure the potatoes are soft enough so your finished product doesn’t become lumpy.

Boil potatoes in water until tender. Drain from boiling water afterward.
Mash potatoes with salt and butter in a bowl. Set aside.
Cook ground beef in a pan until its color changes and the fat is rendered. Take off some fat if it’s too much, but leave about 2 tbsp.
Add onions and sauté with beef until they become soft.
Add the Knorr Beef Cube and stir in the flour.
Add water and mix well until the sauce has slightly thickened.
Add the frozen vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, and ground black pepper. Let the dish simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
To arrange the pie, transfer the meat mixture onto a deep oven-safe dish.
Spoon mashed potatoes over the meat mixture and spread until the meat is fully covered.
Top with grated cheese, then bake until the cheese has melted. Serve and enjoy!
