Tortang Ampalaya
This dish uses the rich and strong flavor of ampalaya, infused with the savory taste of chicken, served omelette style.
Tips
To remove some of the strong bitter taste from this vegetable, cut the ampalaya in half, scrape off the seed and pit, then slice the outer core. After slicing, place it in a bowl, add a generous amount of salt then massage. Leave for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water, drain and pat dry then set aside.

Ingredients
- 2 small pcs ampalaya sliced thinly
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 Knorr Chicken Cube
- 4 pcs egg scrambled
Let's start by preparing the ampalaya. Let's try to remove some of the strong bitter taste from this vegetable. Start by cutting the ampalaya in half, scrape off the seed and pit, then slice the outer core. After slicing, place it in a bowl, add a generous amount of salt then massage. Leave for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water, drain and pat dry then set aside.
Get a medium pan, make it nice and warm over high-medium heat. Add in the oil then start pan-frying the ampalaya until soft and tender. Add in the crushed Knorr Chicken cube, and let it dissolve and incorporate well
Add the eggs to the pan. Start by adding half portion of the eggs, then once the base sets, add in the remaining egg portion. Avoid mixing or stirring the ampalaya egg mix. Allow the egg mix to cook and set before moving the pan.
