Knorr Liquid Seasoning gives these juicy pork slices the added magic they need. With this Pork Asado recipe, you’re in for a real Chinese-inspired treat!

Tips

Pour enough water to cover the meat when simmering. The liquid will be the base of your sauce, and it will make the meat tender and moist. Let the meat rest before slicing to retain the moisture and juicy texture inside.

Ingredients
  • 1 kg pork, whole
  • 2 -3 tsp five spice powder
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 8 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 pcs. bay leaf
  • 2 pcs. star anise
  • whole black peppercorns
Cooking Method
  1. Let’s begin this popular and classic Chinese dish by marinating the pork in a mixture of five spice powder, soy sauce, garlic and Knorr Liquid Seasoning for at least 1 hour.

  2. After an hour, transfer the entire mixture to a pot and add water, bay leaf, star anise and peppercorns. Bring this to a boil at high heat and reduce the heat to simmer to slowly cook the pork until it is tender and syrupy. Adjust the seasoning by tasting the sauce.

  3. To serve the Pork Asado, slice the pork into serving pieces with the sauce on top. For that resto look, sprinkle spring onions on top.

  4. Who says you need to go out for a real good Chinese dining experience? Home cooked Chinese food beats any resto dish especially when it’s cooked by mom.
