Batangas, while known for its beautiful beaches, is more popularly known to foodies as the home of indulgent and rainy day fave Batangas Lomi. We teach you how to make this classic dish with a special ingredient for increasing meatiness – Knorr Pork Cube. One cube contains flavor equivalent to 1 kilogram of pork so it makes soups, like this lomi Batangas, extra flavorful minus the hours of simmering.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 pc small red onion, chopped
  • 200 grams pork belly, chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup kikiam
  • 1/2 cup fish balls
  • 100 grams pork liver
  • 50 grams chicken liver
  • 2 pcs Knorr Pork Cubes, dissolved in 8 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 kg fresh miki or lomi noodles
  • 1/4 cup cassava or tapioca starch dissolved in ⅓ cup water
  • to taste salt and pepper

Lomi Batangas Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup crumbled chicharon
  • 4 pcs boiled eggs, sliced into halves
  • to taste Knorr Liquid Seasoning
Cooking Method
  1. Heat oil over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until soft and fragrant.

  2. Add the pork belly and cook until browned on all sides.

  3. Next, add the kikiam and fish balls. Sauté for 2-3 minutes or until kikiam is brown.

  4. Set aside some pork belly, fish balls, and kikiams for toppings.

  5. Add the pork and chicken livers to the pot. Cook until browned.

  6. Add Knorr Pork Cubes dissolved in water into the pot along with the soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.

  7. Add the noodles into the pot and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes or until cooked through.

  8. Add the dissolved starch with water into the pot and simmer until thick and glossy.

  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  10. Ladle batangas lomi into individual serving bowls and top with the reserved toppings as well as crumbled chicharon and eggs.

  11. Finish off with Knorr Liquid Seasoning Original if desired.
