Make the Pizza Rolls Sauce:
Heat the oil in the saucepan over medium heat.
Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
Add the tomato sauce to the pan and stir.
Add in the herbs and the chili flakes, if using.
Taste the pizza rolls sauce and season with salt and pepper.
Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes to give the sauce time to thicken and the flavors to develop.
Take the pizza sauce off the pan once you’ve reached your desired consistency. Set aside for assembly.
Make the PIzza Rolls:
Trim off the crusts of the white bread.
Using a rolling pin or a wine bottle, flatten each piece of bread.
In a bowl, combine the pizza sauce, cheeses, pepperoni, oregano, and garlic powder. This will be your pizza roll filling.
Set up your station by putting everything in place from left to right starting with the pizza filling, then the flattened bread, and last a shallow bowl to put the rolls in.
Get one piece of bread and put 1 heaping tablespoon of pizza roll filling on top.
Roll the bread like you would a lumpia (spring roll) and press the sides to seal it. Repeat until the ingredients have been used up.
Fry the Pizza Rolls:
Prepare to deep fry by again putting everything in place.
Get three bowls and in one bowl, mix together the milk and eggs. In the second bowl, add the flour, and in the third bowl, add the breadcrumbs. Place this next together along with the prepared pizza bread rolls.
In a deep pan or frying pan, heat oil to 350°F.
Dip each bread roll into the flour mixture, shaking off any extra flour.
Next, dip in the milk and egg mixture, making sure it’s evenly covered.
Finally, roll the coated pizza bread rolls in breadcrumbs. Press gently to make sure the crumbs stick to the bread roll.
Add the pizza bread roll gently into the hot oil and deep fry for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Don’t overcrowd the pot and fry in batches.
Once done, place the bread rolls in a strainer to allow excess oil to drip off or on a plate with paper towels. Serve hot with the creamy pizza roll sauce.
Make the Creamy Pizza Roll Sauce:
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
