Beef Bulgogi Recipe for a Korean-Inspired Dinner

K-Drama fans will tell you that beef bulgogi is one of the easiest Korean dishes. Like our local tapa, bulgogi consists of thin, marinated beef slices. Rib eye is often used, but if you want a more economical alternative, you can go for thinly sliced sirloin cuts.

The beef bulgogi marinade tastes sweet and savory and is seasoned with typical Korean ingredients. It enhances the beef sirloin’s naturally meaty and umami flavor. And because the word “bulgogi” means “fire meat,” the traditional way to cook this Korean dish is to grill the meat. But modern adaptations have it cooked on stainless steel skillets or cast-iron pans, giving it the same caramelized edges.

  1. Season the beef slices using Knorr Liquid Seasoning. Put them in the chiller for 10 minutes to let the meat absorb the flavor.

  2. In a bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients. Mix well.

  3. After 10 minutes, cook the sirloin on a well-oiled grill pan for 6 to 8 seconds per side.

  4. Next, transfer the meat into a bowl, and pour in the soy sauce mixture.

  5. Let the beef strips sit for several minutes to absorb the sauce.

  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and eat the beef strips by wrapping them in lettuce leaves.
