What is Cheese Pimiento?

This comfort food finds its origins in Southern American cuisine. Its must-have components include cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and pimiento: a variety of red, heart-shaped chili peppers similar to red bell peppers. Pimientos are sweet and mild, making them a perfect treat for kids and grown-ups.

Filipinos like serving this on white bread as a quick merienda. And since it holds up well in a sandwich, it’s also a usual baon option for busy parents to add to their kids’ lunch boxes. But beyond these, you’re bound to find more ways of using this versatile spread at home. Are you feeling excited yet? Once you taste your homemade creation, you’ll never go back to buying it from the grocery store. Start with this Filipino-style cheese pimiento spread recipe for added nostalgia.
