Easy Baked Salmon Recipe to Make at Home

In this recipe, you’ll coat your salmon fillets in a mix of mayonnaise and herbs, then top them with cheese for an indulgent, celebratory dish. If you like the zing of garlic, feel free to add a few finely chopped cloves to the mixture. Before serving, finish with a squeeze of lemon to freshen up the fish and make it umay-proof.

Ingredients

• olive or canola oil, for brushing
• 1 kg salmon fillet, trimmed
• ground black pepper, as needed
• 2 pcs lemon
• 1 cup Lady's Choice Real Mayonnaise
• chopped fresh herbs
• grated cheese
• breadcrumbs, as needed

Method

1. Brush a baking pan with oil. Place salmon fillet at the center and season with pepper. Squeeze lemon juice on top, then leave rinds on the pan.
2. In a small bowl, combine Lady's Choice Real Mayonnaise and chopped herbs. Use a spatula to coat the sides and surface of the fillet with the mixture. Top fish with grated cheese and breadcrumbs.
3. Bake in a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven until cooked through and golden-brown on top.

The Best Sides to Pair with Baked Salmon

To round out your meal, you can pair your cheesy baked salmon with an assortment of sides that complement its rich, zesty flavors. Here are a few matches made in culinary heaven.

Mashed potatoes

Go two for two on the creamy factor with mashed potatoes. Add a more rustic quality by keeping their skins on and mashing the potatoes roughly. For best results, skip the blender and use a fork or potato masher instead.

Roasted vegetables

Crops like carrots, potatoes, and broccoli make a hearty, carbo-loaded partner to salmon. When roasted, they bring a smoky quality to any meal. You can also serve your veggies with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or a squeeze of citrus to brighten them up.

Fresh salad

A simple garden salad made with leafy greens, juicy tomatoes, and crisp onions will do a fantastic job of balancing out the richness of your main dish. For the dressing, try a simple lemon-olive oil vinaigrette or sweet-and-sour honey mustard.

Garlic fried rice

If you’re bringing this to a Pinoy party, then rice is the way to go. Use day-old white rice, butter or margarine, and lots of garlic. Make sure you bring enough for seconds.

Corn, carrots, and peas

You can’t go wrong with a classic. This trio will add sweetness, color, and texture to your meal without overpowering the salmon. Plus, it’s a fool-proof way to sneak veggies onto kiddos’ plates. Just cook everything in butter, season to taste, and you’ve got another winner.

Classic coleslaw

Because salmon is packed with natural oils, it can be quite greasy no matter how you prep it. To counteract its fattiness, pair it with fresh, homemade coleslaw. This crunchy, mayo-based side is easier to prepare for big groups.

This baked salmon recipe will wow your loved ones at the next reunion. If you end up with leftovers, use them in other dishes that don't require much effort. Mix your fish with rice, mayo, and soy sauce for a quick lunch bowl, or toss it with cream to make a five-minute pasta. Can’t get enough of cheese and salmon together? Make this Parmesan-crusted masterpiece. It’s another easy dish that the whole family will enjoy!
